It is not long before the Association’s Annual General Meeting takes place at

Shareshill Village Hall on Thursday March 24th at 7.30pm (Covid-19 permitting).
We would like to see as many members as possible at the meeting, so please put the
date in your diary.

This year we will be looking to elect a new President, Chairman, Treasurer and membership secretary to the committee.

If you would like to be considered for any of the above committee positions and want to discuss what the role entails please email: Alan Greenman, Chairman at: agreenman219@gmail.com for more information.

We will provide training, help and support across all roles to ensure a successful outcome.

The future success of the our club depends on the full commitment of all the members so please consider if you can help by joining the committee for a year.
We will send out nomination forms and more details about the AGM nearer the date.

Club AGM on 18th March 2021

The Annual General Meeting of the South Staffordshire & District Beekeepers Association will be held on March 18th at 7.30 pm via Zoom.

At the AGM, new officers and committee members will be elected and existing serving committee members re-elected. Please note: all officers and committee members are elected for one year and may serve for a period of three years in the same role but still have to be re-elected each year.

Apiary Coordinator
Quartermaster
Asian Hornet Action Team Coordinator
Health & Safety Coordinator
Communications Lead
Events Coordinator

Committee reports will be circulated by email before the day to allow for questions on the night. To find out more about the roles, an outline of each can be found on pages 2 and 3 of this newsletter or on the SS&DBKA website, AGM section.

The club committee took note of the 2020 survey results and a lot of exciting changes are planned for the club during 2021. Please consider joining the committee, taking on one of the roles listed and helping us to run the club for the good of all the members.
Full help and support will be given to new committee members. Please attend on the18th March 2021 and support your club.

AGM 2021 – March 18th

The Club Annual General meeting is due to be held on March 18th 2021.
The committee is looking for two members, one to take on the role of Treasurer and one the role of Events Coordinator helping to organise social events for club members to participate in once we are able to meet up again. (see below for job role details)

Treasurer:
• Accepts on behalf of the association all monies and records it appropriately
• Pays on behalf of the association any authorised expenditure
• Ensures all income and expenditure records are kept up to date and an appropriate third party examines the end of year accounts
• Keeps the committee informed of the current situation with respect to finances
• Completes annual returns to Charity Commission
• Assists the President and Chairperson in preparing budgets for the association priorities

Events Coordinator:
• Develops the association’s annual calendar of events
• Plans events to meet association and members needs
• Co-ordinates the refreshments for members at the apiary and at ‘paid for’ events
• Co-ordinates the annual members survey
• Ensures that venues and speakers are hired, and refreshments arranged
• Monitors the success of events and feedback in order to improve future events
