We are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the SSDBKA Photo Competition.
Shortly you will be invited to submit a maximum of three entries per person.
The competion rules and categories are shown below. These may change before the final launch so please keep checking up on this page for updates.
Entry Form & Rules
Thank you for participating in our competition. Please read the rules carefully and ensure that you complete all sections of this form before submitting your entries online.
Entries are invited in any of the following categories. You may enter a total of 3 photographs. Your photographs can be in a single category or across different categories.
Rules
1) A maximum of 3 photographs may be submitted by any single entrant.
(2) Photographs may be submitted in a single, or one or more categories.
(3) Photographs must be the work of the entrant, have been taken during 2026 and not previously awarded a prize in any other competition.
(4) Photographs should be original, the work of the entrant.
Each photograph must have a title.
(5) The use of AI enhancement is permitted only in that specific category. Other, normal photo-editing techniques are allowed.
(6) Entries will be viewed, for judging, using a projector and screen. Therefore:

Must be submitted online as JPEGs using the sRGB colour profile.
- · Maximum file size must be no greater than 2MB
- · Landscape images must be no larger than 1600×1200 pixels
- · Portrait images must be no greater than 1200 pixels on the vertical side.
(8) Judging will not be wholly based upon photographic expertise. Photographs should be a celebration of Bees and Beekeeping.
(9) By entering this competition you assign all rights to your photograph(s) to South Staffordshire & District Beekeepers Association. (10). Entry into this competition is deemed to be an acceptance of the above rules
Our Selection Process
All entries will be anonymised by Richard, our Education Lead. Entries, with their titles, will then be viewed by a Shortlisting panel of five people drawn from SSDBKA membership.
Shortlisted photos will be submitted for final to judging to:
Caroline Beacall (Head Gardener, Shugborough Estate)
Amanda Berry (Design Manager at Beecraft Magazine)
Winning entries will receive a prize.
Closing date: Midday Sunday 15th November 2026.
